Today was the moment TEKKEN jumped off the stage and into the crowd to launch an explosive collaborative project for TEKKEN Tag Tournament 2, the most hotly anticipated installment to date in the 40 million plus selling TEKKEN franchise.  The WE ARE TEKKEN project is about artists, music producers and fans – that means you – re-imagining TEKKEN in their own unique way by asking themselves one simple question: if I were in charge of TEKKEN Tag Tournament 2, what would it look and sound like?

From today, anyone who wants to take part in the project can re-imagine the visuals or music of TEKKEN Tag Tournament 2 in their own unique style by producing an original piece of art based on game characters and environments or by remixing one of six tracks from the game’s original soundtrack.  Artists and music producers have from today until July 16th to submit their work, with the ultimate goal of being hand-picked by the TEKKEN team to win tons of amazing prizes.  Winners will be announced July 23rd.

To launch the project and provide some inspiration to fans, NAMCO BANDAI Games has collaborated with a number of renowned artists, illustrators and electronic music producers from North America and Europe to create their own visions of
TEKKEN Tag Tournament 2.

Remixes of the game’s original soundtrack have been created by electro house artists Crookers, Busy P, Siriusmo, Jokers of the Scene and His Majesty Andre; drum’n’bass producers Logistic and Benton; moombahton rising stars Sazon Booya and more.

TEKKEN characters have been re-imagined by comic artists Neal Adams, Alan Kupperberg, Daniel Govar, Jock, Ben Willsher and Jon Davis Hunt; low-brow legends Frank Kozik and Vince Ray; illustrators McBess and Adam Haynes; and graphic artist Superdeux.

The vision of TEKKEN Tag Tournament 2 created by these artists and producers will be presented in the artbook alongside the winning fan entries and on an exclusive remix CD in the WE ARE TEKKEN limited retail edition of the game, scheduled for European launch on 14th September 2012.

“We have never done anything like this before. The WE ARE TEKKEN project is going to provide us an amazing vision of how TEKKEN might look and sound in a parallel universe,” said Katsuhiro Harada, TEKKEN Project Director at NAMCO BANDAI GAMES Inc.  “Everybody on the TEKKEN team is really excited to see and hear what the fans will create.”
