Details..
Deep Silver and doublesix digital have announced today that Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Special Editions will be available for PC via digital distribution and as a retail version from May 11, 2012. The game series brings all the excitement and atmosphere of the original TV program to the home of the players, but with the added unique feature of special packs, containing hundreds of extra questions from a specific field.
The main Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?: Special Editions game features more than 1.200 questions covering all fields of knowledge, additionally the themed packs contain more than 600 questions each, specialized on topics such as music, films, football, sports, or world-famous TV formats like South Park or Star Trek: The Original Series. The main game and the complementary question packs are also available via Steam, where customers can enjoy a discount of 20 percent from April 11, 2012 to April 18, 2012. Further game packs will follow in the future.
The wide range of games are developed by doublesix digital under license from 2waytraffic International, part of Sony Pictures Television, who own and license the Who Wants to be a Millionaire? format around the world.
In Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Special Editions, contestants participate in the Fastest Finger First round and then scale a mountain of questions in the quest for that elusive virtual million, making tactful use of the three classic lifelines – 50:50, Ask The Audience, and Phone-A-Friend. It’s a social experience, too: up to four friends can compete locally to outdo each other, with each person’s score dependent on their speed.
But the standout feature of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Special Editions is the introduction of special themed question packs for different fields of knowledge, such as the biggest names from movies and TV, sports, music or movies, and many more packs to come.
