April 30, 2012—Award winning composer Christopher Lennertz scores Lightbox Interactive and SCE’s Santa Monica Studios Starhawk. The successor of Warhawk, the game will be released exclusively for PlayStation 3 on May 8, 2012. The score album will be released June 19, 2012 through La-La Land Records. Starhawk is a journey into the Frontier, with the goal to reach the Battle Zone through building war crafts with real time strategy to take down the Hawks. Lennertz has worked previously on the Mass Effect series , Medal of Honor and Gun. His previous films include Horrible Bosses and Alvin and the Chipmunks. Lennertz’s most recent film project is the number one movie currently in theaters, Think Like A Man.
In Starhawk, the universe is in the future. After the Rush, humans are starting to colonize other planets and reside mainly on the Frontier. The game follows Emmett Graves, who has been infected with riff energy making him an Outcast. Travelling to different areas of the galaxy, Graves and his brother try to take down the Hawks. “When scoring a video game, you are creating the environment for the player through the music. You are hitting specific actions of the player. The music in a video game can be shown off a little unlike in a film because dialogue is not a huge contender,” Lennertz stated. “The music has a very demanding role.”
