Details…

Indie developer Misfits Attic has been hard at work on its infectious coop/competitive action-puzzler, A Virus Named TOM, and is proud to announce that the game is now available for pre-order and download on the digital distribution service Desura http://www.desura.com/games/a-virus-named-tom

In addition to Desura, the game will soon be launched on Steam and OnLive. Pre-orders placed through the official website (www.aVirusNamedTom.com) will receive a download code for the full game on Steam.

In honor of this great news, the team has released the game’s intro video, which explains how the maniacal genius Doctor X became a pariah in the very city he helped engineer. With vengeance in his heart, Doctor X creates a virus named TOM and sets it loose to destroy the infrastructure of the city that betrayed him.  This new video also showcases the fast-paced and addictive coop and competitive gameplay that’s in store for gamers.

A Virus Named Tom is an action puzzler in which players rearrange circuits to spread a virus (whose name is Tom, but you probably already figured that out) while dodging anti-virus drones. It’s one of the few puzzle games out there where you can play co-operatively with up to 3 friends as well as including a battle mode where you can take on your friends for virus supremacy.

Misfits Attic is a part of GameSpy Technology’s Indie Open House program, an indie incubator and residency program that leverages GameSpy Technology’s resources to provide free office space, technology, peer support, and consultation to help indie dev teams design, craft, and execute their inspired game ideas. Six development teams are currently in the middle of their six month residency working in GameSpy Technology/IGN Entertainment’s San Francisco office: Primer Labs, Team2Bit, Cryptic Sea, Interabang Entertainment, Misfits Attic and Wolfire.
