With the release of Lego Jurassic Park my wife makes a comment “I would like to get all of the Lego games”. My response was quickly “Do you know how many there are?”. With that statement I quickly realized that some people may be unfamiliar with the number of Lego releases in recent years.
I do realize that this isn’t a complete list by far, but we are choosing to focus on Traveller’s Tales games for more recent hardware. For you completists out there you may want to check out this list.
Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga
This excellent version of the game was release in 2007 and actually was a compilation of Lego Star Wars: The Video Game and Lego Star Wars: The Original Trilogy. But honestly…. this is the best version since it covers all six Star Wars films.

Lego Batman: The Videogame
This was the first in the Lego Batman line of games. Featuring the same co-op gameplay found in Lego Star Wars, this made a great game to play with friends. Suiting up as both Batman and Robin made this game totally worth it.

Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures
Covering the first three Indiana Jones films, some would say this is the only Lego Indiana Jones game needed. New features for this title included the ability to interact with environmental objects, and to build and ride vehicles.

Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues
This was a weird one… It would obviously feature levels from Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, but this also features redesigned levels from the other three movies. A lot of complaints were made however, that Kingdom of the Crystal Skull took up over half the game.

Lego Harry Potter: Years 1–4
The game is based on the Lego Harry Potter line and its storyline covers the first four films in the Harry Potter series. A major change is to the hub system. The Leaky Cauldron works as a central hub for purchasing unlockable extras and returning to previous levels, while Hogwarts acts as a constantly evolving massive hub with the unlockable characters found by picking up their hidden portraits.

Lego Harry Potter: Years 5–7
The game is based on the Lego Harry Potter line and is based on the final three books and four films in the Harry Potter series. This was almost just a continuation of the previous title, however the online play feature that appeared in Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 is absent from the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of this game.

Lego Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game
Released in May 2011 to coincide with the release of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, the game is based on the Pirates of the Caribbean film series and its storyline covers all four films. Being able to jump into the world of Jack Sparrow easily makes this a must own title for anyone’s collection. The Lego humor makes a return and honestly fits perfect in this universe.

Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
Lego Star Wars III features missions and characters from the Clone Wars television series, as well as favorite characters from the original Star Wars saga, in both single-player and multiplayer gameplay modes. Overall, the game engine used by previous Lego Star Wars games has been upgraded. It can now hold more than 200 moving units or objects on-screen.

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes
Numerous DC characters within the Batman continuity and outside it are playable characters. Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes also featured dialogue and an open world to explore, the first in the Traveller’s Tales’s Lego series to do so. This is by far my favorite Lego Batman title.

Lego: The Lord of the Rings
Based on The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, the game follows the original storylines of The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King. New features are added to the gameplay from the older Lego video games, such as the travelling through Middle-earth in between levels, and switching between storylines of different heroes. Players also collect and use a variety of weaponry and magical items

Lego Marvel Super Heroes
Featuring over 150 Marvel characters this is the end all superhero game in my opinion. Featuring the same great Lego gameplay, a massive range of super powers, and an open world New York leaves little room for improvement and makes this an excellent entry into the Lego series. Lego Marvel’s Avengers is a spin-off/sequel to this game, to be released in the Fall of 2015.

Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham
It is the third installment in the Lego Batman video game series and a sequel to Lego Batman: The Video game and Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes. I honestly feel like this title takes a step back from the previous entry since it doesn’t feature the open world Gotham City. However, when else will you get the chance to see a Lego Conan O’Brien.

Lego The Hobbit
The game is a follow-up to Lego The Lord of the Rings based on the first two Hobbit films An Unexpected Journey and The Desolation of Smaug. This seems like an odd choice to only include the first two films, so for me something seems a little off about this title. Apparently there were initial plans to include The Battle of the Five Armies as DLC, but this idea was scrapped for unknown reasons.

The Lego Movie Videogame
We absolutely love us some Lego Movie….and you know what? We love this game too. It doesn’t really introduce too many new features, but it follows the storyline of the film and is the only game that features Emmet, Wyldstyle, Uni-Kitty and many more as playable characters.

Lego Jurassic World
The newly release Lego Jurassic World features levels from all four of the Jurassic Park films. There are more than 100 playable characters, including Dr. Alan Grant, Ian Malcolm, Owen Grady, and many others to discover and unlock including the Tyrannosaurus rex. The player can also create their own characters, by travelling to either the Jurassic Park Visitor Center or the Jurassic World Visitor Center, and they can also create hybrid dinosaurs from the various parts of dinosaurs they have unlocked during the game’s progression.

Lego Dimensions
It follows multiple characters from various Lego sets after a masked villain breaks into multiple worlds. It follows the same format as the Skylanders franchise and Disney Infinity series, where the player has Lego figures and a portal which can be played within the game itself. Get your wallet ready for this one.

LEGO Worlds
Lego Worlds is probably the most interesting of all the Lego games as it sets out to tackle the same creative spirit that Minecraft enthusiasts hold so dear. This game features a procedurally generated world of Lego Bricks allowing you to Explore, Discover and Create. You can actually preview this title through Steam’s Early Access found here.
