Pros
* Nice Graphics
* Easy to play
* Blood Race and Slaughter modes are very addicting
Cons
* Voice acting is something to be desired
* Seems like a “One and Done” type of game to me
It’s getting pretty close to Halloween, the time of ghouls, vampires, and of course zombies. There are always the big names like Resident Evil or Silent Hill. But for those who want to thrown some racing into the mix, Zombie Driver might have what you’re looking for.
Presentation : B
Graphically, Zombie Driver has some ups and downs. I really like the environments that you can drive around, especially on the levels where you’re driving around at night. But the enemies a barely distinguishable. Really, the blame is more on the top-down perspective that they game has, but considering that it’s an arcade game, I can’t be too harsh on it. Still, it’s a zombie game and I feel the zombies should have been given more focus. Sound quality is fairly decent, with my only complaint going towards the voice acting. But, again, it’s an arcade game so I’m not concerned.

Basically, you have three modes to choose from: Story, Blood Race and Slaughter. Story, as you would expect, takes you though the campaign where you can earn new cars and weapons. The missionsĀ are short and to the point, side objectives included.
Blood Race pits you against multiple cars to complete one of three types of races: normal race, endurance and eliminator. The normal race is as you would expect, drive a certain number of laps while keeping ahead of your opponents. The big difference between this and other battle racing type games is the inclusion of the zombies. Or, at least, its supposed to be. The thing is, I was more worried about the other cars more than I was the zombies. In fact, I barely even noticed they were there. I just thought it was odd since it is “Zombie Driver”. But, I can understand that this is just one part of a bigger picture. Plus, the next mode more than makes up for that.
Slaughter gives you a small map to run around in while killing zombies, and you basically have to survive as long as you can. The more zombies you kill, the more power ups, health, etc that you can unlock. And, like Blood Race, the money you earn here can be used to upgrade you ride for campaign. Sounds simple enough, right? Well, this is one of those things that you start to play and you easily lose track of time. Whether or not that’s a good thing, I leave up to you to decide. Either way, I enjoyed it throughly.
Multiplayer : N/A
No multiplayer.

Was Blood Race and Slaughter modes fun and addicting? Yes. Will it keep me from playing big hits like Assassins Creed 3 or Halo 4? No. I played around with the modes a few times, but after that, I was pretty much done. The lack of multiplayer makes it worse as it gives no incentive for me to show friends. Bottom line, it’s an interesting distraction.
